As you may have already seen on my Instagram, the long-awaited dining room makeover has been finally completed. Since the questions about the new wall are piling up, I finally want to share all the details with you today.

Now we live here a bit more than a year and slowly all the furniture for the living and dining room is coming together. Therefore it was time to give the room some character. For a long time, I had the hand-painted wallpapers of De Gournay from Paris in mind. But since they are on the pricier side, I was doubtful for a long time. As long as I can’t imagine looking at the same wallpaper for several years, this isn’t probably the right choice for me. So I will just keep on dreaming about De Gournay for a while.

Gucci Decor Heron Wallpaper

A few weeks ago, an Insta story about Gucci’s Decor collection drew my attention. I already knew about the Gucci Decor launch last year, but only had porcelain and embroidered pillows in mind. I was really excited when I found the wallpaper selection.
The Heron wallpaper was the perfect match for the dining room. So I couldn’t help myself jumping off the sofa and measuring the wall to finish my order the same night.

A few days later I already held the package from Italy in my hands. It is a thick, heavy wallpaper with a matt surface. So many of you asked me on Instagram if the wallpaper is hand-painted and it’s really even hard to tell while standing right in front of it. The print is absolutely gorgeous and such a high quality, you can even see each brushstroke in the pink background.

Wie ihr auf Instagram ja bereits sehen konntet, ist mein langersehntes Esszimmer-Makeover erfolgreich abgeschlossen. Da sich aber seitdem die Fragen zur neuen Wand häufen, möchte ich heute endlich alle Details mit euch teilen.

Nun wohnen wir etwas mehr als ein Jahr hier und so allmählich habe ich alle Möbel für den Wohn- und Essbereich zusammen, deshalb war es dringend an der Zeit dem Raum Charakter zu geben. Lange hatte ich dafür die handbemalten Tapeten von De Gournay aus Paris im Auge. Die spielen preislich natürlich in einer besonderen Liga, weshalb mich mein anhaltender Umgestaltungswahn lange zweifeln ließ. Ich kann mir momentan einfach nicht vorstellen mehrere Jahre die selbe Tapete anzusehen. Sollte sich das irgendwann mal legen, muss ich mir sicher noch den Traum einer De Gournay Tapete erfüllen.

Vor einigen Wochen landete ich schließlich auf einer Insta-Story von Gucci zur hauseigenen Decor-Kollektion. Ich wusste, dass diese bereits letztes Jahr gelauncht wurde, aber konnte mich nur an Porzellan und bestickte Kissen erinnern. Ich war total begeistert, als ich die Tapeten entdeckte. Es war das perfekte Design für das Esszimmer und so konnte ich nicht anders als von der Couch zu springen, die Wand zu vermessen und noch in der selben Nacht die Tapete zu bestellen.

Wenige Tage später hielt ich die Pakete aus Italien auch schon in der Hand. Es handelt sich um eine dicke, schwere Papiertapete mit matter Oberfläche. Auf Instagram kamen so oft Fragen, ob die Wand handemalt ist und ich kann euch sagen, dass man sich selbst aus unmittelbarer Nähe unsicher wäre. Der Druck ist absolut hochwertig und so lassen sich die einzelnen Pinselstriche sogar im rosafarbenen Hintergrund erkennen.
